In 2010,Twitter decided that it needed a logo instead of writing as twitter.so they placed the bird after the word twitter in its logo.But they wanted something that looks like simply attractive and perfectly symbolized the tweets.So in 2012,they invented the twitter bird.The twitter bird perfectly summed up the objectives of the company and attracted more with a single dark blue colour.Mountain blue birds provided inspiration for this logo.
Actually,the bird in the twitter logo was Larry T Bird.It named after former NBA player larry bird,who played for twitter co-founder Biz-stone's home-state team,the Biston Celtics.Doug bowman,twitter's creative director said that the twitter bird's beak and body that pointed towards the sky represents the freedom, hope and limitless possibility .
