Leap Year Exception
We know that leap year occurs for almost every four years. This is because the time it takes the earth to revolve around the sun is exactly 365 and 1/4days.we cannot consider these six hours in a year.So these six hours until the 4th year will add up and consider as a day in a leap year.
But actually, the exact time for the revolution is 5 hours 48 minutes and 46 seconds.we are adding too much time by taking six hours into consideration.so if we add an extra day for every four years for 128 years we will be off by one day again.
For this reason, every 100 years we skip a leap year unless it is also divisible by 400.
Conditions to determine a leap year:
- Except centurial years,A year will be a leap year if it is divisible by 4.
- Centurial years which will end with 00 consider as leap years if these are divisible by both 100 and 400.
